My first stack of favorite doll resources. Below I will give a short description of each book.

I love collecting book resources. MY FAVORITE PATTERNS for Dressing Antique Dolls 1865-1925 by Evelyn Ackerman is a delight to own. There are 36 authentically styled patterns and 45 photographs. The book has 5 sections which cover clothing for French, German and American Schoenhut girl and boy dolls, French dolls, miniature dolls and antique hats for dolls. The book contains ways to increase or decrease pattern sizes.
MY FAVORITE PATTERNS FOR DRESSING ANTIQUE DOLLS 1865-1925 VOLUME 2 BY EVELYN ACKERMAN (printed in 1994) offers authentically designed patterns of the 19th an early 20th century. The book contains 38 patterns which can be increased or decreased in size. I love the details and authenticity of the patterns. I have only used portions of the patterns for my art doll creations. I hope to be disciplined in the future to create an entire outfit from this book!
The Coleman's book THE COLLECTOR'S BOOK OF DOLLS' CLOTHES-COSTUMES IN MINIATURE 1700-1929 is the most definitive book on costuming in my collection. The book provides the reader with a historical background on original doll clothes in Germany, France and English speaking countries from the years of 1700-1929. The clothing is presented in chronological order. In addition to the thorough historical costume information, over 400 patterns are included for the reader.
